A REFLECTION ON PSYCHE

The Many Masks of Being Human

Hi friends, lets explore the human psyche, a master illusionist, with masks for every occasion! From the "Responsible Professional" to the "Enlightened Mystic," from the "Tough Warrior" to the "Social Chameleon," we change identities like a well-rehearsed play. Psychology tells us that these masks are adaptations, shaped by early conditioning, social expectations, and survival instincts. Carl Jung called them "personas", necessary but often misleading projections of self.

Question, have you ever caught yourself switching masks mid-sentence? At work, the confident leader. At home, the overworked martyr. At parties, the effortlessly cool talker (while secretly wishing to go home and talk to yourself).

Observing the Mask Parade

The trick is not to remove the masks outright, but to watch them in action. Next time you feel yourself shifting into "pleaser" mode or slipping into the "I-have-it-all-together" disguise, pause. Ask:

- Who am I performing for?

- What belief is making me wear this mask?

- Is this truly *me*, or just a well-worn habit?

Self-awareness is like catching yourself in a dream, suddenly, you wake up within your own performance.

Dismantling the False Beliefs

Here’s the secret: You don’t have to rip off all your masks in one dramatic flourish (tempting, but unnecessary). Instead:

- Laugh at them. Ego hates humor.

Name them. "Ah, here comes ‘The Overachiever’ again."

- Question them. "Who told me I need to be *this* to be loved?"

- Befriend the ego. It’s not the enemy; it’s just a stubborn, overprotective roommate.

The Fire Ceremony of Letting Go

To truly shed these layers, a ritual helps. Light a candle, whisper the roles you’re ready to release, and let the flame consume them. Know this: The process repeats. Again and again, until nothing remains but, you become raw truth, unconditioned, free.

Sunday Blessings!

Trust yourself to find the most authentic mask, ironically, it might just be, NO MASK AT ALL.
